Staying late at work? Can't keep up with EHR charting?

"I have been struggling with documentation since day one.  I learned that writing a page of verbiage, which might be 100% true and accurate, could be less acceptable than a few lines of the required verbiage that proves medical necessity. It seems that nowadays, more important than being PC "politically correct", is being DC, "documentationally correct”.  

When the Covid pandemic began, I stayed home and  watched every podiatry  webinar that I could find.  After a while, they all started running together in my head.  Then,  one evening, I watched the Essential Adaptation podcast hosted by Dr. John Guiliana and  Dr. Jeff Frederick. Dr. Alan Bass,  a New Jersey based  podiatrist was their guest. They noted  that the key to documentation is not necessarily what you write  or  how you write it, but the real  “secret sauce “ of any note  is that it conforms to the LCD rules of that carrier for the geographic location where the patient is treated.  They were talking about a new software that can be used with almost any electronic health record and at that instant, I realized that I finally had found what I was looking for - SpeakEasy."   - Dr. Jerry Leff
